An Introduction
We regularly evaluate and have funded the development of new technologies that will further enhance the operation of our facility from an environmental standpoint. We are advocates for the development of new combustion particle filtering methods and hope that our efforts will help set new emissions standards for waste incineration and for coal-fired industries.
Through continuous upgrades in technology and staff education, we are poised to see significant gains in productivity, capacity, profitability and environmental responsibility. We continue to upgrade equipment and provide safety training.
Furthermore, by harnessing superheated steam, which is a byproduct of the incineration process, we are creating ‘renewable’ energy that is either used at Curtis Bay Energy or will be sold to neighboring businesses.
We know that our efforts to improve operations will meet with even greater success if we work with our customers to help them improve their methods of sorting medical waste. We are eager to expand our education programs to help prevent the improper disposal of items that contain mercury, as well as other hazardous wastes. Curtis Bay Energy is dedicated to serving hospitals and other medical institutions with customized, professional solutions to all of their medical waste disposal challenges.
