Open Communication
We encourage community members to talk with us about their interests and concerns. We have actively pursued conversations with groups that have expressed concern about the environmental effects of the waste-to-energy process, which we believe produces a better long-term environmental outcome than other methods of disposing medical waste.
Participation in Community Revitalization
We are eager to be partners in the revitalization of the community. One of the original conditions for opening the former Phoenix Services plant was that the facility would contribute $50,000 annually to the city, and that this money would go to neighborhood groups to fund environmental programs. Curtis Bay Energy is dedicated to fulfilling this promise.
