We offer training sessions with hospitals and institutions on the importance of separating items containing mercury from the rest of their medical waste. While we can improve mercury management through education, Curtis Bay Energy will remain vigilant in its efforts to capture any mercury that arrives at our facility.
Curtis Bay Energy has installed a precision emissions tracking system that will help the facility monitor mercury emissions continuously. This means that Curtis Bay Energy will be able to pinpoint sources of mercury contamination and work with specific hospitals to reduce the amount of mercury entering the medical waste stream.
